McHenry-Lake County Soil & Water Conservation District is run by a five-member board of Directors.

Board Meetings are open to the public and held on the first Tuesday of each month (unless noted), at 6:00 PM

Election of Directors:

Owners and occupiers of land in McHenry and Lake County are eligible to run for a board of directors position. The Directors are elected for two-year terms. Normally elections are held each January/February, with two directors being elected in odd years and three directors elected in even years. Elected directors take office in March.

Owners and occupiers of land in McHenry and Lake County are entitled to vote in the election, held at the McHenry-Lake County SWCD office.

Director election application form will be posted on this website in December of each year.

Annual Board Elections

MCCSWCD annual elections will be held Thursday, February 20, 2025.
Notice of Acceptance of Nominations

To all persons of legal voting age who own or reside on land located within the boundaries of the McHenry-Lake County Soil and Water Conservation District. 

Beginning on December 20, 2024, nominations will be accepted for the two-year term of the office of Director of the McHenry-Lake County Soil and Water Conservation District at the District's Office at 1648 S. Eastwood Dr., Woodstock, IL, during our normal business hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. 

To be considered for nomination as a candidate for the office of Director, nominees must provide proof of residency or ownership of land located within the boundaries of the District.

Interested persons must respond by 4:00 p.m. on January 31, 2025.
